What a f----- weekend. Jmac and crew PROPS!!! What an event, from the program design, to the organization, judging, atmosphere, venue, music, athletes and spectators.
To all athletes, it was an honor to WOD with you. We all brought the best out of each other. From all of the hard weeks of wodding, two-a-days leading up to the event, eating sleeping, etc., it was well worth it. Had the opportunity to meet a lot of REALLY NICE people this past weekend. And want to give a shout out to my box(CFHC), WAY TO GO GUYS AND YOU GUYS REPPED US WELL!!! Until the games..............

Thanks, everyone, for the props ... Congrats to an AMAZING and inspiring group of fellow athletes ... Tremendous gratitude for the organizers of this event, JMac, Tommy, Todd, TJ and everyone else who did such a great job judging, cheering, coaching, watering, cleaning up after such a huge group of people! The facility, the programming, the website, the company was ALL top notch. I'm honored to have been part of such an event and honestly the words just don't adequately express the gratitude and the high that was felt for everything this weekend.
ROCK ON DIRTY SOUTH!!

That show was FLAWLESS!! Major thanx to JohnnyMac, TommyO, everyone for giving your all, above & beyond. HUGE kudos! TJ for hosting, you the bomb. This was one of the most amazing and fulfilling experiences of my LIFE. Seeing my CF "family" was awe-inspiring, had tears come to my eyes more than once. I met so many fantastic athletes and new friends.
To my fellow Atlanta cohorts -- SO FUCKING PROUD OF YOU!!!

Thanks to all of the people that made this happen. We had a great time meeting wonderful people we've only seen in videos, etc. It definitely re-lit the fire for all of us at CF305. Good luck to all of the qualifiers. We'll be there next time!

What a great weekend. I'm still "high".
The programming this weekend demonstrated new barriers and weaknesses in my performance. The CF fire within me has been re-ingnited with a whole new level of obsessive passion. I cannot wait to fly out to the games this year to cheer on the Dirty South and I already cannot wait for next year's DS regionals!
Awesome, awesome weekend! A festival atmosphere with no "Beef" anywhere to be found. During the weight breakdown after the last WOD someone said "just imagine what it would be like if the whole world would CrossFit?"....funny but so true.
Thanks again for a life changing weekend.
MaD pRopS!!! to the CF Dahlonega Crew and all my new friends.

I honor the hard work that every staff member, volunteer, and event judge invested in having a fun, fair, enjoyable competitive weekend. Just as iron sharpens iron, the athletes competing brought the best out of one another during every workout.
I send special appreciation and gratitude to the fierce female CrossFitters whose character, athletic skill, and intensity demanded I respect their efforts by bringing nothing less than my own best.
Good luck to all in California: may we represent the Dirty South well!

Just wondering where the final results are and if people that did not make the top seven can see where they ended up placing overall so they can have something to work for next year? Also, why are the final results not in, but the top seven are posted on the Crossfit main site?
The Crossfit Games will grow, or they will fail. If favoritism, skewing the results, and honor becomes an issue the games will cease to exist or the quality of competition will diminish. You choose. The competitors put in the work, will a lack of honor destroy their efforts. The lack of posted results is telling multitudes.
This past weekend was a lot of fun and an encouragement to those that did not compete. I hope that there was not any favoritism shown and that the athletes who made it truly deserved it because I know a lot of effort was put into this event. Thanks for all the effort put in by the crossfit judges and staff.

The lack of posted results is due to nothing other than due diligence. An attempt was made to "rush" and get the results out as quick as possible to satisfy the "masses". It resulted in an individual unfortunately being informed that she qualified for the games only to be notified later that it was a error in scoring that was caught as they were verifying the results. I am sure ALL the results will be out for all to see as soon as they are finished verifying them for accuracy. I could not imagine what it must be like to have to enter and verify scores for 140 athletes performing 4 workouts each with some at different levels of scaling. That doesnt even account for the affiliate teams.
I can tell you that I met Jmac at my facility in West Palm at 10pm last night as he was making the final equipment drop off. How long after the event ended was it "over" for you? He is still not finished busting his a$$! You can not even imagine the COUNTLESS VOLUNTEER hours the organizers and staff of this event have and are still putting in. I am sure the first priority was getting out accurate results for the top seven and now they are working the standings all the way down to the person that scaled every single event.
If you have some indication of favoritism, lack of honor, or skewing results please bring it up. To just "throw" that accusation out there without cause is irresponsible and damaging to those involved.
It was a fantastically organized and run event. Have a little patience!

Well said Todd
Posted by: Jo | April 28, 2009 at 11:11 PM
Yes, well said, Todd. I am the "individual unfortunately being informed that she qualified for the games only to be notified later that it was a error in scoring".
There was no favoritism, just some human error that was not intentional...I am sure everyone would rather wait a little while to see the scores (that have been checked and rechecked) than to have something rushed and posted.
Other than that error, the rest of the weekend was flawless - thank you to all the organizers and volunteers!
